First lady, Michele Obama, publicly announced a new program to help the troops coming home from the wars in the Middle East.  Speaking at Virginia Commonwealth University,  military members and veterans were told that more medical schools are teaming up to boost training and research on brain injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder.  Dr. Paul Harch, HBOT physician and researcher of LSU’s Health Sciences Center, was an invited speaker and shared the successes he has had in treating veterans suffering with TBI.  The initiative is part of the Joining Forces campaign, an effort by the first lady and Vice President Joe Biden’s wife, Jill, to focus on issues that affect veterans and their families.
